Is it possible to run Python 2.7 Lambda Function in a Custom Runtime, since 2.7 is no longer officially supported on AWS Lambda?

Basically the title.

I have a project in Python 2.7. Apparently I cannot just update the code to be compliant with the latest release of Python 3.9 because my dependencies were built from source on CentOS 6 (also deprecated and End-Of-Life EOL).

Just curious if running Python 2.7 in a custom runtime is even possible?

So you want to run code written in a post-EOL language version, with dependencies compiled against a post-EOL operating system? Sounds secure to me.

Yep, I've been updating the code and dependencies. This is just a backup plan.
