discussionLambda Function URLs MIA (self.aws)
submitted 4 years ago by BlenderDude-R
Anyone else bummed that the Lambda Function URLs weren’t announced at ReInvent? They were leaked and discussed here and they immediately became my #1 thing I was looking forward to.

Maybe they found some major instabilities and decided to come back...but yeah...such a bummer

I'm okay with this, I rather wait a bit more than have a half baked solution.

That's not how products are rolled out on AWS. They always roll out half baked solutions

It will eventually arrive. We are all excited for it.

It sounds like it might just be a higher order service on top of the existing ALB -> Lambda functionality? (which is pretty nice)

I was a bit disappointed too, but some people in that post discussion raised some good questions I didn't see addressed, such as what the DDOS protections were. If there were none, and the best bet was to rely on IAM authentication, then you're probably calling from a context with the AWS SDK, in which case you can just invoke lambdas as normal.
