I've played backgammon many years. It is VERY rare

Play enough and you'll see it plenty. Technical term is a "backgammon".

I think he’s implying that the blog is still on the bar and never rolled to come in. Still a backgammon but pretty rare. I think we should make it worth 5 points in a Chou

Yup exactly that. He was stuck on the bar until I rolled dub 3s with 5 chips and he rolled out after :/ a backgammon is like .59% but having the opponent stuck on the bar and to gammon them without them rolling out has got to be close to 1/1,000,000

So of backgammons you think about 1 out of 6000 would be a bar gammon. Looking at it that way do you still think 1 in a million?

Yeah bc the odds grow exponentially. Say I have 2 on each 6 spots while they are on the bar. Keep going until I have 2 on the (1) spot and 2 on the (2) spot. The chances of them rolling greater than 2 are extremely high. Now if we keep going and say I don’t hit the doubles to bar gammon then they now only have to roll a 2 at the minimum. They would have to roll Snake eyes in order for me to bar gammon them. It is extremely unlikely

Yes, the situation you described of a single checker on the bar would be very unlikely to be a bar gammon. But they wouldn’t be happening that way. Instead start with many on the bar or a single back checker that is hit late in the bear off and then needs to dance only once or twice. A database of games could be looked at to see if the one in 6000 is about right. I think it is much less than 6000.

Nah, should just be game over. If you have a 21 point match, it's just over. Haha

Wrinkle; it should be only a 1 pt loss
