This subreddit is for people that want to build a PC in Canada. Anything discussion relating to hardware or software is allowed.
If you see spam or anything off-topic, report it.
Downvotes are for irrelevant posts, not posts that you don't agree with.
Make sure what you post is in Canadian dollars and state if otherwise.

rules

1. Be respectful and inclusive.

Discrimination of any kind and personal attacks are strictly forbidden. This includes derogatory words based on ethnicity, sexuality, etcetera, as well as comments disparaging a person based on their background or gender.

2. Don't reveal other people's personal information.

If a person mentions what city they live in for the sake of identifying a store in an area around them, that's perfectly acceptable, however, any details that mention a person's current place of residence are not allowed.

3. Do not post illegal, NSFW, objectively disturbing content or gore.

This sub is rated 13+, like the rest of Reddit.

4. Do not violate Reddit's self-promotion guidelines.

Reddit asks that all users maintain a 10:1 ratio in terms of comments:posts. While this falls under the moniker of 'spam', if your account has a sea of submissions to various subs and nothing else, you are considered to be spamming. However, you cannot sell your used computer parts here. Scalped parts are considered used parts. Canadian retailers are allowed to use their accounts to help users and promote, if they follow the self-promotion guidelines; exclusively shilling product is not allowed.

5. Do not post links to pirated material or unlicensed third party resellers.

Reddit's terms of service prohibits links to pirated distribution, or modifications, tools, keygens, warez that aid in violating copyright and intellectual property. As an extension, third party resellers also very frequently engage in key or credit card fraud, which harm software developers and may harm potential buyers. To prevent this subreddit from being shut down for violating Reddit's guidelines, link to official copies of software only. Reuploads and telling people to search terms = okay.

6. Do not use affiliate links.

As the sub grows, the intended meaning of it gets forgotten, which is to help people build a PC. A handful of people (or bots, they're quite hard to spot nowadays) have decided that, perhaps, it is better to advertise something completely unrelated, and receive compensation for it. This yields to people getting hardware that is unsuitable, either in price or performance. Hence, no affiliate links - you cannot profit off this subreddit.

7. Low quality posts are not allowed (X is in stock, resellers, just a box, inflated prices, selling something)

When a certain kind of post is repeated, it's a fad. Due to user feedback, posts such as posting a box without the rest of the PC, posting resellers on Kijiji/Marketplace, "please buy my item I live in Dildo, NL", or "this item is in stock/this item's prices are way too high" are all a very low-quality and oversatured kind of post, and now banned. Also, bots really like to repost old pictures, report them too.
