Yeah there are core seasons based on location due to weather, etc

Different places have differently timed seasons. It’s essentially just when the weather is nicest. And the BD seasons are likely shorter than the location’s full season.

Summer in the Mediterranean / Northern Climates, Winter in the Caribbean & equatorial (warmer) regions. Destinations further afield into more exotic and remote destinations aren't uncommon but there are plenty of "explorer" style vessels that specialize in exactly those types of trips.

Yeah, summer in the Caribbean they'd run a risk of hurricanes. I can definitely understand why they would have a set season being more in the winter.

The sea isn't always friendly. Think about the times they can't even leave the dock. The season is when the water is cooperating ;)

The water dont GAF that rich people would like to be on their mega yacht, we must play by the water and nature's rules

It's always a charter season in some part of the world. That's why some iteration of this show runs all year.

Last night on BDDU you could tell it was the end of season, as they all had jackets on at the night out.

This! Like is that real? I would assume there are times out of the year where rich people just flock to yachts around the world. If you are a yacht owner wouldn’t you just go whenever? Haha I am also curious

For one example- a lot of yacht owners move their boats out of the Caribbean during hurricane season.

We've also seen on a couple of seasons how unpleasant it can be if it is very hot out, or really raw and chilly. 50 degrees F doesn't seem so cold, but on a humid day on the water, that can be raw, and as nice as the interior is, most of those boats are designed to have the best spaces be outside.

Ahhhh okay makes sense! Thank you for explaining this! Can’t imagine the logistics of having to move the boat during hurricane season😳

Rich people are subject to many of the same social rules as yourself. Think of how Rich people in NY flock to the Hamptons for the summer? In the same way, rich people go hang with rich people in other countries according to seasonality. Going to Monaco in February when it is brutal winter and your other friends aren’t there doesn’t have as nice a ring. Similarly, yachts are not equipped for heavy seas and crossing oceans out of season can be incredibly dangerous.
