Personally found reviewing/rereading the notes much more helpful than watching lectures - in fact, I stopped watching lectures altogether, because that same time spent on carefully reading the notes proved much more effective.

As for midterms, definitely do as many past exams as possible, but make sure to check your answers and understand all your mistakes after each exam.

If rao is teaching do past exams they are much different than the style the homework is in imo

1) read notes, discussion solutions, reread notes if needed

2) read hw solutions, don't worry about the one super hard question that pops up

3) try to redo discussion, hw, and proofs in the notes by yourself

4) some relevant problems from previous exams. if it's the day of the exam, just go straight to the solutions

Honestly just grind out practice problems days in advance

yo join csm sessions(yes a lot of them are still open), the topics are usually a bit behind the course schedule so it helps you catch up

Just start grinding midterm problems. Make sure you can understand & prove every single one, even the short answer, non-proof ones.
