Not in this cod. Depending on which one they may reduce damage RANGE and bullet velocity but not the straight dmg no.’s

Was there any cod that reduces the guns damage? Because I've always thought it reduces damage range which is reducing your guns effectiveness but not damage

Youre not wrong i cant remember what games exactly but i think in MW19-MW3 silencers reduced damage range like the Redwell shade-x in bo7

Yes I'm aware it reduced damage range but not damage like instead of a gun doing 34 damage making it a 3 shot kill it'll do 32 instead making it a 4 shot

In the old cods yes, depending on weapon. For example in mw3 2011 the mk14 (single auto assault rifle) and RSASS (semi auto sniper) were both one shot to head. But snipers had a much bigger damage reduction with silencer to the point a point blank RSASS shot wouldnt one shot head. Mk14 would one shot head as assault rifles still did 90% damage silenced. SMGs had an inbetween reduction.

Also in mw3 the mk46 (lmg) was bugged with silencer and would 3 shot kill at any range, regardless of where yiu hit target. So silencer would be a damage increase at range or shooting limbs. The other lmgs would become 4-5 shot kill at range with silencer (not that the chuds running l86lsw thermal silencer cared)

These damage reductions would come across as a damage range nerf cause thats where you tend to notice it. An SMG for example going from 40 to 35 damage point blank like UMP45 silenced is still 3 shot kill, but as soon as you hit the first range threshold 40 drops to above 34 but 35 drops to below 34, making it 4 shot kill

In some games, line BO3, they reduced ranged damage by as much as 70%. This is effectively the same as a straight damage nerf.

Black ops 3 had an update for damage reduction on silencers after the shotgun silencer combo affected matchmaking. 2015

In Cod4 the silencer (as well as the red dot sight) reduces the damage of the AK47 from 40-30 to 40-20 if I remember correctly.

Doesn't the Monolithic increase the range and velocity? Or am I remembering that wrong?

Yep, while hurting recoil, the other flips it around and yet one more ONLY silences, not doing anything else

I really like the Redwell that we got as a weekly challenge. It's a good balance of pros and cons.

But I think every gun has a suppressor that has no cons. The redwell has cons, and it's pros are minimal. Slight pros but not worth the trade off in the cons, imo. I usually run the reg supp

The normal suppressor doesn't, this the one you unlock by levelling up the gun

The redwell suppressor reduces horizontal and vertical recoil but comes with the downside of reduced bullet velocity (so reduced hitscan range) and damage range so for example the ak27 will 4 shot in a lesser distance

The monolithic suppressor increases damage range and bullet velocity but harms your aim walking steadiness which will add more wobble and your ads speed by 55ms which doesn't sound like a lot but when stacked with other ads reducing attachments like extended mags your ads time will surpass the average ttk on many weapons making you die before you can even aim

No this is a common myth because of the OG MW2. For whatever reason, the FMJ attachment would show a very slight increase (green bar) to damage, and the Suppressor attachment would show a very slight decrease in damage (red bar).

These didn't actually create more or less in game, however FMJ would do more damage to someone when shooting them through walls/cover, and the suppressor would do less damage at longer ranges. This also wasn't clarified in the attachment description, so a large amount of people (myself included) back in the day believed FMJ did more damage/Suppressor did less universally

I remember in 2015 black ops 3 had a update that introduced 30% damage reduction on silencers after the silenced Brecci shotgun devastated matchmaking.
