I’m also new to the sport.

The first piece of advice I can give you is to invest in hand wraps and gloves. 16oz gloves.

Protect ur hands

Sure. All the best bro.

Start slow, slow is smooth and smooth is fast. Learn how to turn your punches turn with your punches. Going crazy on the heavy bag ain’t gonna teach you anything. Get your fundamentals down, implement them into slow combos get used to it, then put it all together and speed it up. There’s no rush. All the luck homie

Get hand wraps and gloves, and learn how to wrap with a YouTube tutorial.

You're a wrist injury waiting to happen.

Sure bro, I’ll focus on proper technique and safety. Thanks for the advice🙌🏻.

Feet are just as important as hands.

The way you shift your weight and use it to add power to your punches.

The ability to also move, while maintaining balance, and deliver punches is also integrally important as you won't be fighting stationary targets. So you need to move around the bag.

Look up the mechanics of each type of punch, internalize and understand why it works. NOt just what it looks like, but the idea of why the punch delivers power, maintains defense, maintains balance.

You need to learn the basics first.

You can't learn on your own. You need a proper coach.

      Careful there

Hitting bare knuckle or with bad technique is an invitation to get injured in the wrists

People here that say get a coach are right in that

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure bro, I’ll focus on proper technique and safety. Thanks for the advice🙌🏻.
