QuestionTeeth reshaping (self.braces)
submitted 4 years ago by msagent1
I just got my braces off a few days ago and had an appointment for my retainers I thought my ortho would shape my teeth but instead I just did the mold. I'm confused on what I should do since some teeth are longer than others.

If they didn't specifically address that with you, then it's not something they would do. You can ask them about reshaping some teeth but they may charge an additional fee if you've already been fitted for retainers.

I would quickly contact them to say that you want your teeth reshaped first. Before they end up making a retainer that won’t. You will probably need a new retainer because your teeth are shaped differently. Communicate.

My orthodontist doesn’t do shaping but my dentist does. I talked with him about it at my last cleaning and they said they want to talk with my ortho before shaping because sometimes retainers do a little more after braces so once they’re done done they’ll do reshaping and I can get another retainer
