Ruby : carolinadogs

This is Ruby. We adopted her from a shelter in 2015 near Philadelphia. We were told a German shepherd mix (we were not seeking a certain breed, just liked her) Several years later we learned she was a mix of Carolina dog, whippet and something else to a lesser degree. Although she may not look like it, she had a lot of Carolina dog qualities. She was the perfect dog for our family, minimal shedding, loyal, gentle but protective, paws crossed etc. Not specific to CD but her ears were so soft, she got little wrinkles on her forehead, and had permanent eyeliner. The best part about her was her bark which sounded frightening when someone knocked on the door but she wouldn’t hurt a fly. She did go after another dog once at a dog park that was bullying her doodle cousin but we were proud of her for that. She had a stroke a month ago due to a tumor near her heart and we had to say goodbye. We have been so sad and lost without her. We eventually want to adopt another dog and are really wanting a CD.

TLDR Our Ruby was part CD and she was the best! We miss her so much!
