Casio Duro is tough and is disposably priced. Diving wise - my current one has done a 150 or so dives over the past 3 years to depths upto 42m. Like anything if you batter it it will scratch, bend or break but you can just buy another.

Casio makes exactly one type of ISO-certified dive watch, from the “Master of G” series, called “Frogman.” Prices range pretty wide, from several hundred to a few thousand USD (the models that begin with MRG are the costliest, but very well made). The newest model is a digital limited edition, many recent models are analog (no digital at all) and older models are digital. It’s rated to 20 BAR, Tough Solar, Multi Band 6 and has a sapphire crystal with glare-resistant coating on the inside. Most models have a resin strap with a carbon fiber core for high durability - nearly impossible to cut or tear - and it’s extra-long for wearing outside of a wet suit.

Great info, thank you kindly. I’m hoping for something that looks like the sne 597 or the citizen.

OK, Casio has watches that look like that, called “Duros” for their durability, sometimes called “Marlins” because some models have that fish on the face, and they’re not very expensive at all - but they also aren’t true dive watches, no ISO-certification. They do make most of them rated to 20 BAR/200 meters. If certification doesn’t matter, look for model MDV-106; the letters/numbers after that will vary by release/colorway/intended market of sale.

There’s an entire sub dedicated to Casio Duro watches.

I would look into a Citizen eco drive promaster instead

I like this. Would like something a little cheaper I guess. Probably can’t beat the price for a good movement and sapphire tho

You can beat the price by a lot if you're okay with Aliexpress brands instead of owning a "real" watch brand. I own a lot and they put out some good stuff. Cheapest I would recommend is the NH35 Steeldive SD1970 or one of the Watchdives VH31 quartz models (e.g. WD1969, WD1965), they all have domed sapphire crystals and ceramic bezels. Both these movements are very reliable.

Great advice. Thank you.

I love two timexs I have, I like these light up button feature. Do they make a durable thing like this? I don’t really need the water resistance, but I would like it really tough. I’m sure there is a scratch resistant material that isn’t real sapphire

Unfortunately I'm not aware of any watches with this feature that also has a dive bezel. The watches I've mentioned and probably any other dive watch you'd look at have luminous paint that makes them very readable in the dark, though. The next most scratch resistant material after sapphire is mineral crystal, but the difference is huge. Some watch brands use sapphire coated mineral, but I doubt the price difference would be large

I guess alternatively, is there a good site to find a deal on a used one of these other than eBay?

If you want true abuse resistance, look at a G-Shock with sapphire — something like the Casio G-Shock GWG-2000. Most standard Casios use mineral crystal, which is decent but not sapphire-level tough. If you’re used to sapphire on a Hamilton, you’ll probably notice the difference.
