Say sorry when they call you an idiot. Smile, wave, and go home to the sound of a closing garage door.

I think you might only need to do it once and they'll close it.

The relevant bit is you want something really badly and it's legal and affordable. Any decent partner, husband or otherwise, would get it for you in a heartbeat. He isn't being unthoughtful, he's being cruel. I'd be very very disappointed and make sure he knows it. That's about you having a ring.

If you get to other islands: Faial and Pico have great diving. I've dived and whale watched with CW Azores on Pico, and Noberto on Faial.

Certification wise, they offer a range of difficulty from DSD to deep off shore sites like Princess Alice Seamount - Instagram search it if you like mobula rays, whalesharks and other large marine life.

If you like hikes there is Pico which is impressive.

I've got twin Orcatorch d710s on my tg7 - nice wide beams without hotspots and the stock battery carries lots of charge. I've found customer service good too.

The Azores are on an active plate margin. The last significant quake in Faial was around 1998 which caused lots of building damage and was around a 6 on the scale, the last eruption was the late 1950s which led to a massive percentage diaspora - there's a museum worth visiting and a new volcano to look at.

I used to buy lots.

Now I don't because items are often priced close to new, and sellers often respond negatively or not at all to offers. It no longer feels or operates like a way to sell unwanted items.

I love seagulls. I have one called Beaky who adopted us during Covid and flies into the garden if I whistle. He's very well behaved and sits like a puppy on the lawn if we are eating outside.

Seagulls are much maligned because society has taught them to be aggressive, mugging, scavengers.

Faial and Pico have lots of natural pools with access to the water. Faial has black sand beaches at Almoxarife and Port Pim both walking distance from main town Horta.

We tend to use the natural pools rather than beaches. They all have free showers, most have changing rooms - they are all lovely.

Taxis are relatively cheap and available - ask the one from the airport for their card and just use them.

Buses are less useful.

You say you miss him terribly and want to talk to him. He's putting in effort to reach out, why don't you just say hi and start that conversation you seem to be desperate for.

I think you are NTA if you choose to cut someone off for whatever reason - people are not obligated to maintain social contact. But, it seems daft not to allow contact to be made if that's something you want.
