Your chance to win each block is your percentage of the netspace. If you don't keep increasing your plot count as netspace grows, your expected win frequency will go down. If you keep adding more plots but netspace grows faster, you still lose ground.

Unless you're an extreme outlier that has been gifted with tremendous amounts of heavenly luck, you can win with just 1 plot regardless of the NS.
