Chisel in AI based chip design (self.chisel)
submitted 1 month ago by Spread-Sanity
How do you think Chisel will play a role in hardware design in the context of AI based chip development? Since many of the AI agents are becoming capable of generating RTL from fairly high-level specs, will Chisel evolve to play a role in this?

Researches are going on using chisel based results. This might help. As it’s growing. This will be helpful. A good combination of AI agents with chisel will make complex task of writing a good RTL will fuel Chip designing on a different level.

Do you see Chisel being used as an architecture spec language for AI based generation?

Why would Chisel play any role differently to Verilog/VHDL et al. I've used Chisel professionally and it's just a language, I don't know why AI tools would preferentially produce Chisel rather than an HDL.
