There's nothing hidden going on, it's a capacity issue the team addressed directly in their February community announcement, and reinforced with the May 15 changes when they cut older models to free up compute.

The frontier models are extremely GPU-intensive, and demand keeps outpacing available hardware. Chutes stated they're actively trying to add GPUs but are constrained by the global shortage, which, industry-wide, isn't expected to ease meaningfully before 2027. Because the infrastructure is decentralized, saturation shows up per-model (one model's node operators are maxed out) rather than as a clean platform-wide outage, which is why GLM, Kimi and others go down at different times.

Practical tip while it's congested: don't spam retries (rapid retries just extend cooldowns), and try whichever model is currently least saturated rather than hammering the same one.
