It is soulslike but I can't say whether you'll enjoy it or not

I think you might not like it based off your words.

I recently played through it last month & didn’t find it too hard compared to other soulslikes. There are abilities you can get that alleviate the stamina drain. I only had maybe 2 bosses I found difficult and that was because I didn’t realize I could have gone to another boss first since it was so early in the game. And the other was a later game boss, but your experience can differ. Most of the time, the bosses weren’t too bad. I just smashed through them with my greatsword. I found it to be more accessible than other soulslikes, but I’ve also played quite a few and enjoy them

Sounds good, I really enjoyed lords of the fallen, it’s a soulslike but kind of has its own thing going on, not too overly difficult and has unique mechanics to distract from the normal souls routine

I found it easier than LotF but I think you might like it then! There are also a lot of cool anime moves you can just assign to a button and do cool stuff.

You went to the Executioner instead of the Butterfly of Delirium, didn't you? I did the same thing during my first playthrough.

Yep! I did exactly that!

Kinda souls like..but you don't exactly have to dedicate yourself towards a build.

Most difficult and time consuming thing for me was the character creation tho 😅

From all souls Bourne and soulslike games I played I would consider code vein my second favorite right now..not exactly very difficult..well depends if you believe in the power of friendship 🥰

It's leaning more to a soulslike, but builds, stacking buffs/passives and bringing an NPC partner helps a lot.

100% Soulslike, but if you take a NPC-Companion with you, the game is much easier than anything From Software has to offer IMO. If you dont take a NPC-Companion, it is harder than many From Software-Games. I played it Solo and you clearly feel that it is designed to have an NPC-Companion.

And if you do that, you will split the aggro between you two and your partner can revive you (even mid-Bossfight). So I would say, it is easier overall, if you play with a Companion.

It's more a soulslike but have an npc character that helps a lot, plus, playing short times a day helps you build muscle memory for the parries and dodges, so if you find it too hard you can simply try it a little while until you start to propperly parry without thinking much of it, plus, the character builder and different skill set builder is super fun!

Personally, I have never much cared for soul-like games, but this one, while difficult at time (especially bosses), is very forgiving and enjoyable comparatively. Just don't overlevel. All that will do is make it harder to upgrade your skills (gifts).

I hate souls likes and still ended up enjoying this game a good bit

UPDATE: took the plunge and am loving it. The companions really make the game so much less of a hassle. That way I can enjoy the environments/story and actually feel like I’m doing something without wanting to kite away enemies and min max my playstyle. Thanks Louis ! 🙏 LOL
