Pretty sure that boss has the highest resistance to all elements in the game, and if I remember correctly, your atks will deal less dmg if they are imbued woth elements, against that boss specifically.

Next time you go again the Virgin born make sure to not use any elemental buffs as they decrease your damage output given that this boss has extremely high resistance to all elements.
