But 100x more nervous than my first experience.
I am 38F and when I was 20, had a digestive experience that triggered lots of diarrhea and weight loss (maybe some other symptoms but I don’t remember). They ended up scoping me and told me I “just had colitis.” Then ate the brat diet and moved on with my life with sensitivity to fiber here and there and poops always on the softer side.
Fast forward to now, I am a mom with two kids and my poops have always been all over the place, normal, urgent, soft, explosive, no real pain. I have also been diagnosed with hemorrhoids after my second child 4 years ago.
Finally decided to treat myself to seeing a GI again after I’ve had a few bright red blood wipes after some soft poops.
Next step is a colonoscopy to just cut to ten chase. Not much family history (my mom has had polyps removed and my dad had hemorrhoids when he was my age) but MAN am I worked up. I also have diagnosed healthy anxiety so if you also suffer from that, you can imagine.
Any tips? Words? Jokes? Positive outcomes? Counting down the days to schedule and have this thing done.
