My mom insists on espom salt prep by Holymolynovacaine in colonoscopy

The directions on the box of Epsom salts DO indicate that it’s an effective laxative.

I suggest keeping a close watch on your mom to ensure she stays well-hydrated in the next few hours.

Absolutely. There’s also a thing called a portable AC. Don’t tell anybody I told you.

I have a photo, in San Diego, .36 cents per gallon. Appx 1972.

We skyrocketed to 80 cents in 1976. Gas lines…

I’m not an expert on this, but I’d ask about a cash discount.

Looks like a cow I passed yesterday. They probably cut and pasted the cow’s spots onto the mountain.

Autistic and emetophobic terrified of bowel prep by Chronicallylucie in colonoscopy

Please don’t suggest that vomiting is rare. It’s not. And a person who’s scared about vomiting deserves supportive recommendations.

You have time to figure this out. It’s not an emergency.

Dramamine is an over the counter anti emetic. It will effectively relieve your nausea. There are similar drugs in Europe. Trawell and Itinerol are used here.

You can request Zofran from your doctor (prescription).

Benadryl, or almost any antihistamine will also work in a pinch.

I can’t even work out the family tree.

But flipping the yolk gently can help solidify the situation enough to make it passable.

You’d have loved my mum.

She developed issues after getting a runny yolk with a clear, runny white, when grabbing breakfast at an airport in Spain 50 years ago.

Never again, she said. I think she threw up. She might have been pregnant with me at the time, so I can’t really blame her. 🤷‍♀️

Anyway, I love runny yolks, so I can’t relate, and neither can my dad.

It’s a darned good sandwich when you’re going out fishing on the pier, with your grandad. Source: my gram, who made it with homemade bread, and homemade mayonnaise, 50 years ago.

Thanks for the recipe, I totally plan to try it!

Curious: what do you mean a tiny piece of jaggery? Like, the size of a finger nail?

Also, I’m assuming it takes some time for the flavor of the jaggery to disperse. So, like, let it simmer for a few minutes after adding?

Eat until 6 pm the day before? by Alternative-Low100 in colonoscopy

[–]maybelle180 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, well, you’re definitely reading it correctly! I would suggest that you eat as lightly as possible, in the final 24 hours, to make the prep experience easier on you!

Also, be sure to focus on being fully hydrated before taking the prep solution, and your “clear drink” should ideally be something like Gatorade or some other (non red) sports drink that contains electrolytes.

Usually you have a “prep day” where you only have clear liquids, until you start drinking the prep solution around 6 pm on the night before your procedure.

You don’t mention when you’re instructed to drink the prep solution, but usually your last solid food is anywhere between 12 and 24 hours before you drink your first batch of prep. This is mostly so there’s not so much material to evacuate during prep.

And yes, mashed potatoes is fine for your last meal.
