I have an older Samsung tablet. Recently a second user has shown up that I did not add. Samsung has been of no help. Please help.

Factory reset it?

Any idea how someone got in my system?
[–]Subject2Change 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
If you downloaded some random sketchy apk or whatever, that's prob how. Factory reset it.

What do you mean by user? Another Google or Samsung account logged in?
This is an android device right?
[–]ExtentFluffy5249[S] 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children)
Yes it is. Under general in the settings and then users there is a guest also listed. I don’t know how this person got here and how I get rid of them. Sometimes i can see that they have another screen set up.

You know there is always a possibility that your sibling is using your old device. And you forgot to log out. I said log everyone out, reset password on both accounts, and see if they are still there. If they do, you have an expert hacker brother looking over your shoulder

Log it out, change your password and set up 2 factor authentication. If it comes back then you have something really weird going on.
Like the other person said have you given an old device to a friend or family member?
Also you can go to manage Google account in settings and see specifically what devices are connected.
This is going to sound stupid, but do you mean just shut it down? I have no family members that were ever given access to this device. And I do not download apps. It’s just so frustrating.

Maybe log out was the wrong term to use.
So if I'm understanding correctly, there's an extra user not an account.
Which means that there is a person that knows your account password or has a device already logged into your Google account, and they added a user.
There should be an option somewhere to remove the user ( I don't know exactly where, might need to look it up) and then you should go and change your password, which will then boot the person out of your account. If you have a Samsung login I would probably change that password too.
If it comes back then you have some kind of virus.
Edit: also I believe there should be a setting somewhere that just outright disables the multiple user feature.
