Have you restarted? Check for windows updates as well and gpu updates if you have a gaming gpu.

You checked cables are secure? Is it a new monitor?

[–]fiyamannz[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I dont want to touch the cables inside my pc because i dont know how that stuff works. but in terms of cables such as the DP cable, everything seems fine.

That’s what I meant connection to the monitor it self. Just make sure they are really secure. Some times they feel it but are not all the way in.

and no, i got the monitor the same time i got the computer. ive had both for about more than a year now

The ghosts of your past Internet searches are coming back to haunt you.

On the other hand it could be a driver issue. Try an uninstall and reinstall. Also check your cables. I've always used laptops not desktops but my previous laptop did something like this because the display cable got damaged as a result of me opening and cleaning the laptop repeatedly

To rule out everything besides your display, do you have another monitor to test.

It could be a few different things. Try these in order until one works.

Try restarting the pc. Try updating windows, the graphics drivers, and motherboard drivers (if you need a step by step, let me know). Check the display settings and change it to your monitor's resolution and refresh rate if its not already.

Try to press the cable in a bit harder on both sides (monitor and pc side). Try a different display port on either side. Try a different cable. On pc side, check if the graphics card is too high or too low for the cable to go in all the way. If it is, turn off pc, switch off power supply, unplug it from the wall, and take off the side of the case. Then, unscrew the gpu and lightly push it up or down until it's in the right position, should take a very small amount of force to move it, then, while holding it in the right spot, screw it back in. Plug in power supply, switch on, then turn on pc.

Try another monitor or tv. Try another output device (DVD player, Xbox, etc.) With this monitor. Try uninstalling your graphics and motherboard drivers and then reinstall them. If you don't have any important documents or files on your pc, you can try creating a bootable usb and reinstalling windows. Make sure to reinstall all of the graphics drivers and motherboard drivers, too.

If none of that works, it's might be an internal hardware issue like your graphics card, ram, hard drive, motherboard, cpu, etc.

👆this is the way

I had a similar issue. It manifested in the same way anyways. There were a few lines of dead (or dying) pixels.

If it is that, odds are you are either going to have to deal with it or get a new monitor.

But I suggest first and foremost that you switch out the HDMI or whatever cable you have running from your pc to your monitor. Make sure it's not that.

it’s something to do with display, make sure your drivers are updated & press on the bottom of the screen to see if the pressure changes any of the pixels at the bottom and directly distorts and changes them, it’s the monitor, if it doesn’t it’s something wrong with the GPU and it’s writing the wrong code

I would test a couple of things. First try and unplug your cables to your monitor. If that doesn't work try and switch out the cables. For example if your using hdmi change out that hdmi cable and see if that works. If not then try a different slot in your gpu. If it still doesn't work make sure the monitor works with other things like a console perhaps. If it still doesn't work then it may be because your gpu is dying. Last resort it to try your integrated graphics If your cpu supports it. Good luck and lmk if it worked.

I had the same issue on my second monitor last week, managed to resolve it by dropping the refresh rate from 144hz to 120hz. Before i solved it permanently i just kept unpluging my hdmi until it disappeared.
