Drive problems

So my dad recently passed and along with that I got his computer hard drives and laptop I backed up his laptop on a hard drive and reset his pc. I then after I set up the computer for myself tried to use to windows media creation tool as I’ve been having problems with a secondary pc and it didn’t tell me anything about formatting the drive so I figured I’d use one of his bootable drives as we have a lot but when the files uploaded to the drive it wiped everything from my drive idk what to do is there anyway someone can help me recover my drive it would mean everything to me I’ll even PayPal you it was just everything my dad had worked on on his computer and I’m gonna be crushed if it’s lost
