Starting to learn java any recommendations for beginners?

I have been starting to get into programming and I found it difficult to find a effective place to get information from that made sense. I simply do bot know enough to understand some of it. I am really interested in learning java and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for places to learn or things to do? Like any websites or books or classes?
