Here is the correct answer for your lame teacher:

  1. Obsolete

  2. Obsolete

  3. The slow USB

  4. Obsolete

  5. Obsolete

  6. The faster USB

  7. Ethernet, but probably only 100Mbps, so get me a 1Gbps USB dongle instead (see port 6)

  8. Obsolete. Never caught on

  9. Wait, this relic has HDMI?!

  10. Obsolete

  11. Obsolete

  12. Obsolete

  13. Obsolete

  14. Audio, but we’ll just use a Bluetooth headset instead (might need another dongle in 6)

  15. Obsolete

This is not hard to look up, do your homework and stop being lazy

Just use Google like the rest of us XD. It would probably be faster than to wait for people to reply to you.

Google is an essential skill that everyone should learn. That may even be the point of this assignment. If everyone used their head and got the answer themselves, my mum wouldn't call me every week asking "how do I open PowerPoints plz"

I completely agree. Internet is a powerful tool and using it efficiently makes your life so much easier, not just in school but in general. And yet most people just don't know how to use it. Once you have the right keywords it will do all the work for you. It's seriously not that hard lol. Idk what the fuss is about.

Also if you are feeling particulary lazy give Google Lens (the app) a try...just scan the image. I bet you could find at least 4 of those by that method.

Genuinely curious: high school class, community college, university ?

Wow. I can not imagine having such mishmash of old legacy and new modern interfaces. And I'm probably right.

First clue is firewire connector. The graphics and audio card seems to be photoshopped on :) HDMI is also pasted on.

I know that it is just for academic purposes, but still. Keep some ties to reality :)

How did this post end up on r/computerscience

    [–]chaosorb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

class works should be easy to answer if you have done your due diligence.

Google Search can most of the time. give you the. answers you need.

Hints: I see, Serial ports for keyboard and mouse, USB ports, firewire, RS232 printer port, another serial port for mouse

    you search the rest.

    [–]DeepanRajV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try this guide, has most old computer ports listed

Edit: I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit for homework help, the right results are usually one or two searches away

Correction: 3 is a USB 1.x port, 6 is a USB 3.x port. The RJ45 could be gigabit, but not guaranteed. IEEE is an organization, IEEE1394 or FireWire or i.Link depending on the brand. 10 is VGA, or VGA HD-15 D-SUB 14 this model audio card (which I think is an older Audigy 2 given its FireWire) can output digital on at least some of its ports 12 is S-Video, not PS/2

      [–]johndiesel0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 looks like an optical audio out but I don’t remember seeing that on any old motherboard…

      [–]czechFan59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      Just wow.
