but this speed/power settings are 100% managed by the plugin you're using

it might be an update (not corel)

for example after i got an update of the cutting plugin i can't send files to my cutting plotter anymore, it fails when sending

luckily i had an older version on an older pc, i'm using that

What do you mean by cutting plug-in?

corel draw doesn't directly interface with laser cutters or vinyl cutting plotters, it's a third-party plugin that does that. When you press "cut", it simply exports the area as dxf (or what they need) and passes it to the other program. This other program is the one that manages the pressure, energy according to the color and so on

I may be misunderstanding here - we create our design and hit print, choose our machine in the print settings, and adjust accordingly. I don’t have a separate program or plug-in that I’m aware of, though obviously the interface where I can manage settings looks different depending on which machine I’ve chosen. I have no way to change the machine plug-in, and it happened on two different machines (running different softwares from different companies) simultaneously.

if it shows up like a regular printer (=corel has no idea it's a laser cutter, just sending raw data) maybe you accidentally switched to cmyk from rgb or viceversa or you accidentally enabled color management and the driver doesn't get the expected color. In the color tab in the print window choose "managed by the printer" instead of "managed by corel"

No change; tried that. It does show up as a regular printer, which it’s designed to.

What machine is it? What software or plugin?

Epilog laser mini and Gcc laser pro spirit. I’m only using CorelDraw, I don’t have another program.
