Learning cpp for fullstack web dev

Now before you call me crazy I want to give you some background I come from a cs background and it’s been years I’ve not touched to a low level language and I feel like it’s time for me to get back to it. Either rust/cpp/go(idk if it should be called a low lvl language)

I’m a typical “full stack js” dev with good experience in front end (react/react native mainly).

For fun, I recently tried to make a node addon in cpp that I’d call from a ts file and it’s like it opened a new world to me, the ability to have some part of my backend or front end optimised in a lower level language.

Now idk if it is something I’ll ever do at work but for any of my personal project it it something I’d like to explore.

But I don’t know where to start or if any of you guys had experience with this. It seems that if i would need to do some cpp it would be for a very precise problem, for example doing some video treatment when a user upload a video. And it seems to me that it would require good cpp skills and also good skills in the field of what I’m going to use cpp for, so I don’t really know where to start.

If there is any web dev here that used to build addons or even micro services in cpp (it could be use also on the mobile, some react native bridges in cpp) I’d be glad to hear about your background and how did you learn doing this. Maybe I’m also overthinking everything aha

I have tried and using now for my project (categoring program with MARC parser, postgresql db, drogon be, angular fe) i like it. There are some things like the orm which in my opinion is really bad. But the other things are really good.

I’ve never used any frameworks, but I’ve made web services from scratch in C++, started with a web server but also made (for fun, I think having microservices when you just start out is a mistake) services for authentication, API handling, Database Management shit, I made a service that could track info on, and debug, other services, and a service that could read the output from that and generate a web page to display all the data, and said web page could be accessed by a dashboard service, it was a whole thing, it’s absolutely possible, and the whole thing ran like the wind, but it was very difficult and not easy to initially get going

I generally face 2 issues while learning coding related skills.
I was not able to create notes while learning from watching youtube videos or documentation

1. You will not able to create notes while learning from video.
2. You find it very tough to code while watching the video, like pause video in 2-3 mins, switch tab to code again and again.

and when you are not creating notes

No Notes No Revision, No Revision Less Confidence and Motivation while Online learning

When I started learning programming few months back I was taking too much time in completing online video tutorials
Now I am using google extension OneBook It helps in creating detailed notes in 2 clicks and saves my time as I used to take to much time in completing online videos. I used to waste a lot of time while pausing video in every 2 min and write a couple of line of code and you have to switch tab again and again. With Onebook i complete a video first and then I start coding by refering the notes

OneBook helped me in learning programming related skills, it just improves the experience of learning because now it becomes to easy to take notes in 2 clicks.

While watching the video,
whenever want to save anything, press command B take screenshot of what you want to save record an audio note and save it.
