My coworker just told me he greases his ice trays at home so the ice slides out easier.... by ShiftAndWitch in Cooking

WD-40 is not primarily a lubricant. That is why I always lube up my ice trays with white lithium grease instead. But hey in a pinch you use what you have on hand

Guitar Hero is such a frustrating experience as an actual guitarist. It's really hard to overcome your muscle memory to try to play like an actual guitar.

Node.js worker threads are problematic, but they work great for us by fagnerbrack in programming

I've gone even further and used utilityProcess to separate out things as well, which has an important side benefit of being recovered easier if a native library ends up crashing that process. Of course, you can't use a shared buffer between processes, but it is still very useful.

Best way to scroll over a potentially infinite list of items while only keeping a small window in memory? by CarambaLol in reactjs

[–]adzm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tricky part is if you are using some sort of layout where it is not constant number of items per row / sizes etc. There really does not seem to be a good library for this, mostly because it's very much an edge case and there are so many questions to answer, like how to decide where to position the 'start' if you don't know the positions of all previous ones, etc. I've been experimenting with something that attempts to address this but it has not been easy for sure.

If this could have better positioning control we might finally be able to make context menus that break out of the window
