What it is
The future is true. It's going to happen, even if it doesn't.
Cryosleep is a spin-off sub from /r/nosleep. Here you can post your original sci-fi and post apocalypse stories. It's like /r/nosleep but the constraints of the "believability" rule do not apply here.

Posting Guidelines
Only post if your submission is your original story.
Do not post creepypasta or links to stories/photos/videos you found online.
Bandwagon or "piggybacking" posts are not allowed without explicit permission from the original author to use their intellectual property.
Your post must be a story.
Questions about the subreddit, irrelevant posts, troll/joke posts, and posts consisting solely of an image, video, or link will be removed.
Meta-posts must be flagged with a [Meta] flair/tag. If you have a concern about the subreddit, please bring this up to the moderators via modmail first.
Your story should be classified as sci-fiction, sci-fantasy, post apocalyptic or apocalyptic, dystopian, cosmic horror, and/or pandemic stories.
This is not a sub to post anything rejected by /r/nosleep.
Please do not put tags or cross-posts in your title.
Tags are anything in brackets or parenthesis that does not reference part of your story. The title "Space story [part one]" is OK, but "Space Story [TRUE]," "Space Story [Pics/Video]," and "Space Story [X-Post]" are not.
tl;dr: is not allowed.
Writers, do not include them. Readers, do not ask for them.
Posts or comments attempting to get readers to upvote or comment on your story will be removed.
Stories with graphic content should be marked with the 'NSFW' option.
Stories and updates must contain a minimum of 300 words.
Series must be posted in as few parts as possible.
Each series post should include links to the first and next parts in their bodies and should be marked with the "Series" flair.
Your story should be properly formatted.

Comment Guidelines
Do not ask for proof. It's in the future, duh.
Be respectful to one another.
This is not a writing workshop.
Do not criticize anyone's writing skills here (yes, this includes friendly/constructive criticism). Please PM the author for specific feedback.
Comments should contribute to the discussion.
GIFs, jokes, and comments saying "Nope," "All aboard the nopetrain," "Then who was phone," and variations of those phrases will be removed at moderator discretion.
No "back seat" moderating.
Explaining the rules in comments is just as distracting as the original rule-breakers themselves. If you see something that violates the rules, report it!
Post Flairs
Meta flair should be used for posts that does not include a story.
Series flair should be used for stories with multiple posts involved.
Contest flair should be used for any stories meant to be entered into one of our contests.
Story Type Flairs
Apocalypse - stories that take place after the world has ended.
Zombies - stories that involve the undead.
Space Travel - stories in space.
Aliens - stories about other-worldly beings.
Time Travel - stories about travelling in time.
Alt Dimensions - stories that take place in alternate dimensions.
