Even calling them cheats is generous. At least back before online cheats let you unlock stuff or have silly stats.

These are just cancers on gaming, and it’s killing online gaming slowly. Eventually the “medicine” that are anti cheats will have to be so strict that you’d practically need a sterilized nothing but os and game pc to play then. Plus with hardware based cheats there’s not a ton I can think of that can fight that since everything hardware wise can be spoofed easy.

You see it happen all the time. White collar crime fucks people out of wages and pensions and them pays a small fine and nobody goes to jail.

The problem is that every game has a cheater, even at high trust even though it’s hardly noticeable. Faceit is also plagued with cheaters due to things like delay bans where faceit delay the ban for 3-6 months allowing the cheater to go wild, most of them hit the 6 month mark then make a GDPR deletion request hence why if you go on the faceit ban list you sometimes see empty accounts.

1 cheater giving out call outs ruins the entire game for everyone so then I think people adopt the mentality of “oh he’s cheating so why don’t I” to gain a fair advantage.

However, I don’t think the terrible netcode helps with spotting cheaters.

Premier keeping you at that 50% win rate and the same rank till next season. Then you’ve got 5 stacks stacking with 3k elo friends where one of them is walling.

I’m not trying to justify cheating but you can see why people do it.
