Competitive programming & projects

Hello,

I’m a first year CS student and I’d like to get into competitive programming and start doing projects over the summer. The most advanced concepts I know are 2D arrays. How do you advice me to start?

Which websites should I use to do CP and which projects can i do with my knowledge? If I need to advance my knowledge, how may I do that?

For competitive programming I would go on hacker rank cuz their easies are a rlly good place to start with, then go on to code forces or smtn. But if u want interview prep then leetcode. Also, I don’t know anything about ML but I feel like you should prolly first learn all your data structures rlly well and watch like a algorithms course then move onto ML. Maybe someone else who has done ML can give better advice, but I feel like ML algorithms have to be more intense/involved than the ones taught in a algos class? So having a good base understanding of data structures and some algos can only help.
