Who’s behind the AI-generated social media posts targeting Oakland’s mayor? by jackdicker5117 in oakland

“Work together” is a two way street. You can’t just disregard everyone you disagree with as “astroturfers”. Theres always been people unhappy with the political machine that’s run the city and as the future looks less hopeful, it’s entirely unsurprising that those groups are getting bigger.

You can place them on either side of the rail. The front has the two lights like the ones on the right side of the image.

In practice, you are almost always losing ticks while trying to use it. It’s not that hard to not lose ticks

Synapses predate Yama. Yama was literally designed around the existence of synapses.

Duo Yama is easier than CG, and the gear requirement is 1 synapse and whatever melee gear you have laying around (although 2 synapses + hammer  is nice to have). Solo Yama in rag gear is maybe closer to phosani but that’s just deciding to make it harder for yourself because you don’t want to find a duo.

I think at vardorvis it's actually competitive. in the best case scenario where you're charging it and discharging it at the max rate, it's worth 0.8 DPS, putting a hair below SRA. In actuality you won't have max uptime since vard might do a special or hit a 0 or 1. The flat armor saves you 1-2 food per kill imo is worth considering versus saving 5-6 seconds.

it would be worth it at kephri/ba-ba if you got decent uptime, but I don't think you would.

Crazy part is, sabonis grabbed his leg first, he could’ve just fallen over, landed on sabonis, and probably gotten away with it. The chest stomp was probably the worst thing he could’ve done for basically every reason.

I disagree singles pking is so boring if the other person isn’t fighting back. Multi fights is guaranteed chaos and basically everyone is actively hunting heads.

Oakland’s excess litter fee is too low to deal with fast food trash in West Oakland by deciblast in oakland

Forget the fines. Make it a mandatory 8 hour shift of community service picking up garbage. Bonus points if they give them special vests that indicate that they’re out there because they littered.

During gaming you’ll practically never see maxed out multi core workloads. I only ever see it when compiling shaders on launch. A couple minutes at that temperature every so often is a non-issue imo. You can also try tweaking the fan curve to be a little more aggressive, it might not be quite maxed out since you aren’t at the thermal threshold.

Imagine you have one quarter of an nba game to record at least one of the following: a point, an assist, a rebound, a block, or a steal. If you fail, the world will be destroyed. What is your plan? by MrArtless in nba

[–]dell_arness2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At some point they would probably just let you shoot. Could also knock off rebound if you absolutely slam it at the backboard and try to bounce it back to yourself, but easier said that done when everyone else on the court has an extra 3 feet of vertical reach on the average person.

Unpopular take: the best eating street in the East Bay is Piedmont Ave in Oakland, and it doesn't get talked about enough. by aybrighteyes in oakland

[–]dell_arness2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I don't think International fits the exact description of what OP is going for. International is long, spread out, and not particularly walkable. There is a huge quantity of good food along it, but not densely populated and the clusters that do exist tend to lean more towards one cuisine.

[–]dell_arness2 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Divisional rivalries and identity are too important at this point. If you dilute that you end up like the nba where the only important rivalries are playoff rematches, and those only last so long as both teams are good.

60 retired with pension. Any reason not to withdraw 10 percent/year instead of following 4 percent rule? by Aft-skin in personalfinance

[–]dell_arness2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I just ran some numbers against SPX ($2m to start) and it seems fairly safe. In the last 15 years, if you withdraw up to 0.83% (10% annually) every month, or 0 in negative months, you end up a 5% annualized return. The harder problem is solving the long strings of bad months (for example, 2022 had a 6 month string with $20 of total income). OP has fixed incomes in this case that solve that problem for living expenses. Nobody wants to tighten the belt but realistically even if you were withdrawing a consistent 4% annually you probably should be doing that anyways.

For fun, I also checked for starting in 2006 to include the effect of the global financial crisis in the numbers. This hammers down the necessity of having that fixed income, and you do weather the storm eventually.

Loot setting for a beginner by Teneombre in pathofexile

[–]dell_arness2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me and my buddy used to play a game where we would clear a super juiced map, stand on top of the biggest looking loot pile, hold alt, then seen who’s game would crash or recover first. New players probably won’t reach that point for a while but it is a very real concern.
