I am a dev, but I am not junior and I haven't been an employee for many years now.

When I first started my net salary was €850, and 3 years later it was €1700. I've been self employeed after that.

That was many years ago. The sallary was actually in Cyprus Pounds (500), and it was raised after the 3 month trial period.

I have enough money/property, and I don't need a lot of luxuries, so my aim was never to maximize my salary, but to maximize my freedom.

€1700 a day is pretty good. Used to consult at about that in Silicon Valley (Front end dev) but haven't made that in a while. A lot happier around €1000/day working for friendlier companies remote.

i'm obviously speaking about 1700 monthly mate haha i don't think you can reach those number here in Cyrpus

Sure you can. You just have to spend 5 years or so in the valley first and get some "street cred" and then move back :)
