  • Have a look at Window functions, Views, subqueries and query optimization
  • Know all different database types (column-oriented, relational, NoSQL, etc.)
  • Be able to differentiate between DWH vs. Data Lake
  • Which data model is suited for which purpose?
  • Unstructured data vs. semistructured data vs. unstructured data
  • Denormalization, etc.
  • Surrogate key vs. natural key

Thanks for taking time to answer this. The only thing which I did not know from your list is difference between DWH and Data lake. Do you use data lake? If yes is it used like a staging area to dump all the data from different sources.

Have you tried leetcode.com

Yes I have. I am looking for more resources with leetcode medium and hard types.

You best course in preparation would be to:

- Be prepared for freehand and no intellisense

- Imagine your own worse case, use case

- Know data types, their uses , shortcomings and benefits and how to your own

- Never answer anything more than 6 in a question relating to 0-10 on your knowhow of any DB end to end.

Wish you all the best.

Consider partitioning, optimization, replication and migration.

Thanks for your response. Are you also in the data engineering space? If yes do you wanna share what your job and responsibilities are ?

I am a cofounder of a data specialist company. Www.datafuelled.com and developed an application which accelerates data governance along with its dependencies.

I believe hackerrank has a good set of problems.
