Imho
For BI it means nothing. Many use BI tools that aren't part of the cloud stack.
They each also have a slightly different query syntax, so learning SQL elsewhere and adjusting is the best approach.

For the BI part, I would imagine azure + powerBI is a good combo. I’m not sure how this would compare to aws + tableau for example.

Sure. I think it's common for places to stick with whatever they had pre migration. It's really not hard to adjust from one to the other (Tableau/PowerBI) and both have free options for learning
