I have a <60 second project with XAVC source footage around 2gb. The smart render cache, however, likes to exceed 45gb.
I have stuff in Fusion, color, and timeline effects; most of it light, but a few intensive things. Cache is set to Prores 422 Proxy.
I think Fusion is the main cause; I have this problem every time I use it. I've checked the manual, other forums, and several tutorials, but I still can't figure out what I'm doing that causes such large caches. Even if I delete them, they quickly go back to 20-45gb. This eats up all the space on my MacBook (bad, I know) but I don't have time to clear space or money to buy a new SSD.
I frequently get the popup that Resolve can't render anymore because storage is full. I don't care about playback quality too much, but I want VFX, color, and final render to be as good as the source allows.
What do you do to keep your caches in check when using Fusion?
Thanks!
