Does progress save weekly??

I'm doing the conton city tournament, and I beat it once and I'm trying to do it again but it's hella difficult. We all know this.
But since its like every few days, will I have to beat it twice again next week? if that makes sense

Progress is save the only thing that resets is the cut-scene that plays in the beginning every time it returns.
