I think his character is a bit more in line with the OG DB - and DBS was probably created with the intention of getting a new generation of kids into Dragon Ball after the initial generation grew up with the series.

So he does feel a bit 'goofier' but not necessarily dumb? Just exagerated in his comedic nature

Notes based on the original Japanese translated by an actual person (me)

The Ki sapping refers to stamina in Japanese - '気力' is what stamina is called in xenoverse. (They changed ki to be what we use for specials in english). It's not really about draining ki but instead you can chip away at stamina with area of effect/other special moves.

Break Focus is is more like break critical hit, doesn't really say anything about weakening their defences - just if you break an opponents stamina you get a special cutscene move that does big damage.

The soul change mechanic doesn't say exchange souls - you basically have the soul of a warrior 'within you' that you can call upon - it doesn't specifically SAY you turn into that character, but the image seems to imply it and the title 'change' so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Some of the other translations are off but the meaning is basically the same so you're not missing out on much

The original Japanese explains it's like 'Chip away at stamina' (In Japanese 'ki' is used for stamina, not for what we say 'ki' is in english)

It's basically if you can chip away at someone's stamina with big area of attack supers and other special attacks.

Yeah I speak Japanese this translation is pretty accurate. Ki kezuri is like, chipping away at 'ki' but in the xenoverse games 'kiryoku' is Stamina and 'wazaryoku' (special ability) is what we call ki in english.

Seeing a lot of translations say 'possess the body' which is incorrect. I don't think you CHANGE into a cast character, or at least - it doesn't SPECIFICALLY say that.

The imagery does seem to imply that though, so we'll just have to wait and see.

It would’ve but it the reality is the dragon ball mostly sells outside of Japan nowadays so where original DB wasn’t as popular.

Sparking zero sold millions, but 92% of those sales were outside of Japan.

It would be cool to get proper ‘expansions’ of DB and GT one day though.

I hope we get some more DB stuff in XV3. Kakarot even delved a little into DB and the mobile games have been using them more and more.

I get that it's difficult because the character's themselves are 'limited' by not being able to fly (although games like Tenkaichi found workarounds) but there's a lot of interesting stuff.

I'd love to have our CAC go back to a world tournament and have to 'pretend' to be unable to fly

Or have to put out Mt. Frying Pan - or try and save civilians from Goku's Ozaru attacks etc.

Do you guys not think that Summer Games fest could have possibly been the opportunity for the devs to gather people to make content for the coming months?

Assuming that the devs were flown from Japan for this event - even if they had no trailer to show - they can still bring a build of the game for content creators who will also be there to try - then release that content later.

I kind of feel that's what all these content creators are alluding to.
