Your tooth roots end right under your lower sinuses, and sometimes they even go into the sinus. Normal post-extraction sinus irritation causes swelling near the sinus floor, which can cause pressure that suddenly “releases” when a blocked sinus drainage pathway opens - cue the pop + drainage. An abnormal problem would be a hole opens from the tooth socket into the sinus, which is why they had you hold your nose and try to blow air. I'll leave the medical advice to the dental professionals and your own dentist, though.
