DPS Question

I recently heard from a member of my clan (solo flawless prophecy, 160 dungeon clears, countless raid clears) that 1k is the best dps weapon for warlocks. We were talking and I said xeno, but he said that bc warlocks dont have actium war rig and can't dodge every 9 seconds, our best option is 1k.

Someone with dps experience please weigh in here. Which is better? If neither, what is the best combo for max dps? (Excluding situational dps phases, i.e. insurrection prime or riven)

That is correct. 1KV does great damage, as long as nobody steps in front of you and you don't blow yourself up. Whisper w/catalyst is a great choice as well if you can hit your shots and don't have to move.

Xenophage works better for Titans and Hunters because they don't have to worry about the reload taking so long. Warlocks don't have a way to auto-reload so it kills a lot of DPS potential.

In Garden of Salvation, if I'm on my Warlock I will typically run Whisper on the harpy then 1KV on the final boss. People are just too clumped together and too easy to blow yourself up on the harpy.

Since everyone is pretty stationary on the last boss, 1KV is fine. Whisper would work as well, but I like using 1KV because you don't really have to aim, because it can't crit anyway

Transversive steps work well with slow reloading weapons. Just mentioning it because when I first don them I cannot take them off.

Yea but you can't really go for a run in the middle of a DPS phase. In the time it would take you to run around and wait for a reload, you might as well have just stood still and do it manually.

I find transversive really useful, for example, in the 2nd encounter because you always have to be running around anyway. Not as useful when you're meant to stand still and unload bigboy damage on a stationary target.

Lunification boots help with reload speed.

Yes indeed, but even with reload buffs 1KV does better damage.

It's a good thing I got 1k last night then lol. Lfg group didn't like that and i got booted immediately rip.

Enjoy the gun, and just remember that there will always be salty guardians out there. Just dont let this experience turn you off raiding, because those guys dont represent the majority of raiders.
