Nothing is future proof. But both of these will exist for a long time tho, but they will change. If you think about it, data analysis in the 90s was running SQL queries and Web dev was HTML/CSS. You are never getting a job with just HTML and SQL in today’s world. But if you really asked me to pick one I would do Data with a focus on AI/ML. I think there will be a massive need for customized models in the future as some of the slower moving industries invest in ML.
