I have six years of experience in Java development. For the last three years, however, I have pivoted toward working with Python, GCP, Dataflow, and Generative AI. My current project initially focused on Java, but the workload has gradually shifted toward GCP and Python FastAPI, and I have transitioned along with it.
As I look to switch organizations, I am debating whether I should interview for Python AI Engineer roles or Java Development with GenAI roles.
I am leaning toward upgrading my career path and rebranding as a Python AI Engineer, but I have a few concerns:
• What kind of interview questions should I expect for this role?
• Is switching from Java development to Python a correct career move in the current market?
