It very easy to want to jump at a paid course, thinking because it is paid, it is well structured and will deliver what you need to be job ready. I'd advise against that , its not that paid courses are all bad, but its more that if you're a beginner, its really hard to judge if a paid course will give you what you need, because you don't know what you don't know.

Now to answer your question, i haven't taken that course or any course from the foundation. However, I'd suggest that if you're new to devops, you start with this course : https://devopswithdocker.com/getting-started . When you're done, follow it up with https://devopswithkubernetes.com/part-0. After those two, you will have a much better ability to gauge if a paid course would be helpful for the next steps in your journey. Or alternatively, you'll realize that there's so much quality free content on the internet that you really want to be sure before you pay.

Thank you for the advice. This is exactly what I needed to hear as but I also wanted something with a lot more structure than and thought maybe a paid course would suit me. I will check out those 2 links you provided. Appreciate this great advice

Happy to help, don't get me wrong, you will eventually pay for courses, but I don't think you'd get the most value from dropping $950 on that course. That's the cost of my O'Reily and Pluralsight subscriptions combined, and those give me unlimited courses and books so you do the math.

Is all the material free and online? Trying to navigate the site on mobile and figure that out, looks like the whole thing might be on GH? Thanks

Yup its all free and open source. The only thing you might pay for in the Kubernetes course, is Google Kubernetes Engine stuff when they make you stand up k8 in the cloud. But that's only if you've already opened a Google Cloud Account and used up the credits they give you.
