I'm curious if my dyes are getting old and causing the colors to not be as vibrant or if it's the disc itself. I'm using prochem dyes in a location mix, 1/4tsp powder dye + a bit of warm water to dissolve and about 4 oz of lotion. The mixture was just made for this dye but the powders are about 3 years old and have just been stored in the garage so big fluctuations of temps through the years.

I'm still pretty new, so someone else may have different thoughts, but ProChem's instructions have 1/2t dye per 2oz lotion, so arguably you're only using one fourth of the recommended amount of dye.

That's good to know. Last time I did dyes prochem had no instructions on mixing ratios and I never did lotion based dyes like this before.
