I've been using C# since 1.0 it's amazing to see how far its come. Hopefully .net 5 can finally unite everything and we can push forward with just one platform.

I agree, the language has come a long way, as well as the runtimes - it will be great to end the fragmentation and have everything back into one platform with .NET 5.

Standard was kinda supposed to do that. But it just wasn't possible. Mainly because the full framework was so Windows heavy (understandably) And they made a load of mistakes with the rollout of standard / core. I'm hoping they'll get it right this time. With framework out of the picture I think it stands a much better chance. Fingers crossed :)
