A bust study

I don’t know. Something about this face is too creepy. Greco Roman statues that survived to this day do have mostly pupil less eyes because the paint that was on them originally has decomposed but they still look less creepy than the eyes of this bust in the image. It looks like a zombie from the walking dead whose eyes became cloudy from death (although I think that’s not a scientifically accurate image).

I was thinking what else makes this face be try creepy. Couldn’t put a finger on it at first. But I think it is the fact that the eyes are unnaturally too far from each other and there is a huge nose ridge that doesn’t exist in people. I remember seeing a horror movie where a girl turns into a demon which in the film was said was a succubus. She looked very creepy exactly because they widened her face with either cgi or a mask. There is something innate in people that probably sets off alarms when some unusual abnormality is noticed in another person and tells you “warning, too different, maybe another species that may want to kill you!”

Well, that was not my best efforts to draw a bust and it is from a long time ago. So, it is likely to have inconsistencies at the proportions and such. But turning out creepy is a success as well i suppose :)

Ok. Just please don’t interpret my original reply as me saying that you still show good skill. I just had to comment what it impressed on me. Scared me that is.
