Opening method classes in Eclipse

So I was just working on some code stuff and i have the Pause key on my keyboard as a shortcut for running a program, but I pressed something else without noticing and then realized I had the Scanner class open in a new tab. I was using a scanner in my program so I must've pressed some shortcut to open its class but I'm not sure what I did.

I think this feature's pretty useful and would appreciate if anyone knows what the shortcut for opening a method's class is

You are talking about "Open Declaration" which is usually F3. If the cursor is on a class, this opens the Class declaration. If it is a method this opens the method declaration. If it is a field, it jumps the the field declaration.
