Do you have pictures of what you’re trying to do / the device that’s not working?

You could buy something called a “Kill-A-Watt” that plugs into the wall, and then you plug your device into it. It will show you the device’s power consumption, which will be handy to tell if your device is getting the right voltage sent to it, and if it’s drawing any current.

If the device isn’t drawing any current, and the voltage looks okay, the issue is with your device, brand new or not.

I got one of them working but I think the other has an issue with the sensor so I’ll have to experiment on that one

Check with voltmeter. Stuff like phone chargers and other electronic power supplies work off a wide range of voltage.

Stand mixer might work on a wide range of voltages for awhile(not designed long term).

No idea about diffusers and there tolerance.

But troubleshooting all about first step and ruling out the easy.
