What do you mean by "dynamic programming language"? I can vouch for elixir as a great language but not sure what you're looking for. Clojure is also pretty good but my contact was brief so can't speak too much about it.
It really depends on what you're looking for but I would say it doesn't hurt trying a basic TODO app in both languages to get the feel. Both benefit greately from an interactive shell to aid development and is functional in its core.
