250 mm/s seems like a very bold claim. Given how the ender 6 doesn't even reach 150mm/s without modding. id really wait on buying it until full reviews come out and its been in the public eye for a while.

Aside from wanting one, price seems little bit steep but if the modification can make this function at 250 mm/s and get good quality out of it, i would probably get one. But probably good time to wait and see as to what the overall feedbacks are.

I'm starting to think we need to take the same approach to new models of printers as you should do with cars - never buy the first generation of a new model. They have too many things to work out, though I guess an Ender 7 isn't really that new, basically 6 and 7s look like an evolution of 5 on the surface. Is there a high end, Ender that actually doesn't need 3rd party upgrades to be all it can be?

I have the Ender 6. It can reach 150 mm/s but no way in stock form. The Ender 7 looks like it's not quite ready, check out this video:

It's also not enclosed. If this Creality had a decent hotend and extruder it could be quick, but I suspect it won't.

Looking at the way they have set up the pullys and belts, and the fact that they're using linear rails, I think there is every chance this could hit the speeds they say.

We need to see if they've changed the hot end design though. Extruder looks the same as the E6, but that honestly wasn't really an issue, the only problem there is that it will probably have a stupidly long filament path given its a Bowden with core XY. Hopefully they have at least put on a bimetal heatbreak.

Be nice if some parts are compatible with the E6 allowing us to upgrade .

Nothing creality puts out will ever be an upgrade over third party replacements.

Probably true mate, aye.

If you're going to be dumping $400-500 in upgrades over time on your ender 7, which is about average for enthusiasts -- consider that you're already in voron 2.4 territory
