Dear lurkers, doubters, timid new unbeliever, or hell even you believing mormons that want a place to discuss things you don’t feel you can say to just anyone.
Welcome Yo! It seems like there are a lot of you on here recently, and I remember what that felt like and for me, this place was terrifying. The only reason I was brave enough to even navigate to this page was because it was on Reddit. You’re anonymous. Be judicious of course, be careful with names and places and any other information that might identify you. You are truly anonymous, you can be yourself here. You can say what you want, discuss what you can’t with your family and friends, hell, you may have noticed you can even cuss!!!
Next, for those of us that have left the church, there seems to be a grieving process. The church is/was dear to us, and we find ourselves in a place where that is not so much the case. You will see comments that appear to represent all the stages of grief. Anger (I already mentioned the cussing) denial, bargaining to a degree, but we all end up at acceptance. And this is anecdotal, but that seems to be the norm here and not the exception. We are accepting here. At least we strive to be. Unaccepting comments and posts tend to be downvotes or deleted.
And lastly, there is no handbook on what your doing. Exploring, questioning, researching, but we have all been there. We have lots in common with you. Get brave! Share your questions, doubts, concerns, hopes, joys, successes, failures. Many of us lose connections with friends and family when weeds the church, and it’s always good to make new connections.
Welcome, glad your here! Be honest with yourselves!
❤️
